About Ronald:

Ronald de Vries is group leader Fungal Physiology at CBS-KNAW Fungal Biodiversity Centre, Utrecht, The Netherlands. Ronald joined the CBS in 2009, where he heads up the ‘Fungal Physiology’ programme, which in a relatively short time period has grown to more than 20 members of staff, including postdocs, students and technicians, which in turn has placed strain on the already limited space available in CBS. The acquisition of a new research wing for industrial mycology will accommodate Ronald’s group, as well as a new group on novel product discovery, and ML3 laboratories for the collection and medical mycology. We herewith congratulate Ronald with his appointment as professor, and wish him much success for the years to come.

Since the 1st of May 2014 he will be appointed as professor at Utrecht University for a period of five years. The special chair 'Fungal Molecular Physiology' will be integral part of the research group Molecular Plant Physiology and the Institute of Environmental Biology in the Department of Biology.
